many thanks to those who responded so quickly to my last question one further thing i wish to know as a newbie (well over 15 years away) to outboards, an evenrude built in 60- 61 what sort of petrol should be used as these days in the UK only unleaded fuel or ron 95 is mainly availiable will this cause problems or do i have to use an additive to ensure the mix works ok?

Re: FUEL

Can you tell us the model of the outboard...should be on a plate at the front of the transom mount.

You'll be safest with a 60-61 Evinrude by using a 24:1 fuel:eek:il mixture. Most of their engines of that period specified that mixture.

Unleaded fuel is fine. 87 octane is fine. Use good quality outboard motor oil to mix with the fuel.

Re: FUEL

Our 87 octane unleaded is about equivalent to your ron 91 unleaded, Tom.
