I have twin 200hp Yamaha HPDI's, 2001, The twin remote control unit is a Model 704.The port engine throttle needs to be pushed forward a lot more than the starboard engine throttle to syncronize the RPM's when over 2,200 rpm's. I took the 4 screws out of the cover to try to get to the adjustments but it still wouldn't come off. Is there something else I need to do to get the cover off?Also, is there an adjustment that will allow the port engine throttle to sync with the starboard one without affecting the low speed and idle positions?thanks for your help.

hello the throttles are not sync at the control box end. the throttle tension is. to remove the cover remove the 4 screws then use a 90*pick at the points just fwd and aft of the levers and just above the console pull away the plastic from the pins. to do the sync at the engines follow the service manual and rigging manual very carefully. good luck and keep posting
