Hi and help:<br /><br />Been looking for a while and bought a 15ft bowrider (trihull) with a Suzuki 75hp (was told it was a 1989 but beginning to look like a 86). Anyways a couple of questions:<br /><br />1. it usually starts relatively quickly after a few times but once you stop and want to restart not so easy? 5, 7 times to turnover and idle? Any advice on this?<br /><br />2. the control has a fast idle lever - not sure how/when to use this and how in combo with the choke?<br /><br />3. any other advice?<br /><br />thanks <br /><br />Jim

Hi Canuck,<br />The gas in the carbs will boil out when you shut the motor off. So you have to lift the cold lever to make the motor stast easier. Like stepping on the gas peddel of your car.<br />A little choke may help you also.Most motors<br />have their own temperment for starting.<br />Also check the water pump tell tail to be sure it is pumping at all speeds,if the engine gets to hot it won't start good.<br />...have fun...corm

82 suzuki dt 75 was my first engine on 16ft deep v, it was a good first boat.i loved that dt75, they don't like lower rpms,they seem to run a little rough,i think its because it 3 cylinders.anyways they are strong motor I could keep up with a 90hp 2 sproke johnson same hull and maker. fast idle lever 2 porposes,1 pick-up idle if need or if flooded lets you open throttle plates to clear it out.does it run fine oncw started? alot of smoke? if ok once started then either to much fuel or not enough. this thread is 12 years old who did this happen?
