Re: FORCE TO MERCURY MOTOR SWAP

Welcome to iboats. :)

That's going to be just about a complete changeover. Not much matches. The motor should be straight up and down, plug the holes and cap the end of the hydraulics. Bleed by operating from full tilt to full tuck several times.

Also, you should know that the trasom mounts are not the same, the 115 has a narrower transom clamp, so you will have to fill the holes from the force and drill new hols for the Merc.

Good luck and I think you made a great choice.

Craig

Re: FORCE TO MERCURY MOTOR SWAP

to fill holes buy hard wood dowls and hammer them in(cut to propper length).ive had 3 differnt motors on the back of my boat with 3 diff patterns and the plugs work great.i also put a little marine goop after for good measure.

Re: FORCE TO MERCURY MOTOR SWAP

To fill holes, I bought dowel that was the same size as my drill bit that was larger than the holes. Drilled them out, slightly larger. Mixed some epoxy resin up, coated the cut to LESS than length (about 1/8 less than the hole was deep, on both sides), and tapped it into the enlarged hole. Then I added some cabosil to the epoxy and smeared it over the holes. Sanded it smooth and then painted white.

No leaks, no problems.
