Took family out for a run to bait and check my bush hooks. Ran out first 6 gallon tank and switched to my second. Started back up, went maybe 150 - 200 feet and the control box tells me ( by way of screaming ) that it is hot, then my wake started catching up to me. First tank ran fine, no problems at all. Both tanks were empty and filled at the same time, with 6 gallon of fuel and 15-16 ounces oil like every other time i've filled up. 86' 40 hp Mariner, 79 15' skeeter fiberglass. I'm going to make fresh tank in the empty and run it to see if second tank is bad. I have clear glass in line fuel filter between fuel pump and top carb , it is clean and clear.Impeller and housing was changed first of May. when i'm running hooks motor is up and is move around with paddles and minn cota to keep motor out of vegetation and bank sand and such. My thought are bad tank, but could somthing went bad at same time? And thanks for any reassuring or other imput

"Overtemping" :confused:

If you mean its overheating, then thats a different issue and not related to a fuel problem.
Perhaps you may have a blockage in the waterpassages.
