I posted this here by mistake (1st time user)...Tried to move this to Mercruiser Engine Problems and can't figure out how..../sorry....<br /><br />Max rpm at wot is 3800 on a 1998 model 28.55 cierra sunbridge with 7.4 L fuel injected mercruiser (Bravi III outdrive). Used to be 4400. Boat bottom is good. Boat load is lighter at the moment (took off 9.9 4 stroke kicker and an extra battery). Have done annual maintenance on engine and Bravo III outdrive (and boat bottom)at the marina every year since new.<br /> Have just..replaced fuel filter, replaced cap and rotor, checked 2 plugs (perfect condition)and cleaned the flame arrestor. No change in top rpm.<br /> Temperature at warmed up idle is 175F and is 185F to 190F when wide open.<br /> Engine runs steady at all rpms up to it's new max of 3800. (no fluctuations or variations).Runs smooth thru this range. <br /><br />All seems to be perfect except it just wont produce any more rpm's. (Thus slow to get on plane and top speed reduced)<br /><br />Any suggestions or clues would be appreciated...My marina's repair guys are at peak busy season and will take 3 or 4 weeks before they can look at it and they have run out of suggestions for me to try in the meantime..<br /><br />Should I run it like this before gettin it repaired?<br /> <br />Thanks
