I have a 1977 70hp mercury thats giving me some problems. Engine starts with no problem but after it gets going it losses prime and got to keep pumpimg the primer ball to stop it from stalling. Fuel pump and all fuel lines where changed and checked and everything seems ok.

Re: shockwave

I'd go for an obstruction in the fuel line between the bulb and the tank including the filter screen in the tank. Or the squeeze bulb it'self. If you have put a water absorber in the tank or are using ethanol you could have alcohol jell doing it (alcohol absorbs the water and they combine into a miscous goo) BTDT. Otherwise it could be varnish or possibly corrosion.

Mark

Re: shockwave

If obstructed between the engine and the tank ussally the bulb goes flat or mushy so I would ck the plugin or the pump repair, Ck valves or thier gaskets or there are 2 differant kits for the 3 bolt pumps
