Default '85 to '87 Suzuki Center Console Controls

Can the center console throttle control for a Suzuki be turned around? On mine, to kick it out of gear to be a warmup lever, you have to puch it out away from the center of the boat. I want it to work the other way. Also, the Trim switch on the trottle is at my pinky instead of my thumb when operating. I have not looked, but it seems that you should just be able to undo the linkage in the box, turn it around and hook them back up. Am I right, or can it even be done? http://f1.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/kni...dir=/My+Photos Here is a link to pictures of my boat and you can see what I am talking about with the controls.Knightgang

I can't tell by the picture but that box looks like a Morse box instead of the OEM box. If it is a Morse box then you can turn it around.By the way the trim switch should be by your thumb not your pinky.

Knightgang,From what I can see, the handle is already on backwards-you know that. I do not know if you can flip the handle, but you can definetely rotate the entire assembly.

Rotaing the entire assembly is actually what i meant. It is encouraging that it can be done. I probably will not do it until this winter when I build a new console. Then the inside will look like a new boat, even with a fresh coat of paint on the interior. I can't wait. Thanks
