WHERE IS THE STEERING FRICTION ADJUSTMENT FOR A 1974 MERCURY 20HP TILLER MOTOR. I DON'T HAVE A MANUAL SO I CAN'T LOOK THERE

On the top of the swival bracket it's a 7/16 bolt head

Thanks,but there is no 7/16 bolt on top of swival bracket. SHould this be on the actual engine or the bracket that is attached to the transom. There is a hole on top of the transom bracket. I just got the motor and it runs great, but there is no steering friction. How can I rig this.

Dave the swival bracket is the peice beteen the two clamp brackets that the motor tilts and steers on. Goto BAM Marine site and look up your engine in the parts breakdown to see if thats whats missing

part I need is: 73014A1 plate assembly co pilot<br /><br />Bam doesn't carry it s its no longer made. You got a used one laying are I could purchase? or know were I could find one?

Dave, I don't have a clue were you are but there must be a marina in our area with a donor motor, there are plenty in this area
