I just bought this boat with a Mercury 1150, 115 hp engine. The serial Number is #3944059. I would like to find the year for this motor and what is the gas to oil mixture.
Thanks,
Marty

Gas oil mix is 50-1 premix. It's early 70's.

If the block is silver it's a 70-71, if it's black with two fuel pumps it's a 72-73, If it's black with one fuel pump it's a 74-75.

And unless you KNOW the waterpump was done this year or last year. Do it FIRST.

-W

i agree with Clams. '71 1350. always start on muffs in drive way before leaving home. got to the ramp, unloaded started and no telltale, well back on the trailer it went. i know i need to do it, just hadn't gotten around to it.

Thanks for the info Clams Canino. What needs to be done with the water pump? Sorry, I am a little ignorant.

these engines don't have thermostats, thus the cooling is very important, water pumps need to be rebuilt atleast every 2-3years. this is just part of the preventative maintance.
