My son in law has given me a boat w/Mariner 40hp, serial 676b404276 serial number. the engine has not run in years, but has been garaged and looks brand new. I know I will need water pump, carb and most likely fuel pump repair kits. My local Merc/Mariner dealers in Orlando tell me the serial number is wrong, but I know it's correct. Can anyone tell me the year of this motor, is it a Mercury or Yamaha and where can I buy the repair kits? Thank you
