Yamaha Pro 50 3 cylinder, what year
Black box on Stb side of engine, with lever connected to throttle cable, is this box a powerpack with mechanic spark control??? Looses spark at 2/3 throttle.

It's the CDI unit, and the lever adjust the timing. No moving parts under the flywheel......

How do you tell what year, talked to two dealers, they said did not have enough numbers. I went to look at boat again this morning to recheck serial number, owner said I could not get close to boat until, the fish and game people had removed a gator.

clanton-you said pro50F and f stands for 1989..D is 1990..then in 1991 they went to P..92=Q..93=R..94=S..95=T and so on to 2003=B...and good luck with the gator

Anyone have a manual for this engine, that will share some specs. I need stator output to pack, pack output to coil, and ohms for coil.
