My 2000 Yamaha 150 High Pressure direct injection engine was not started for 2 years. I drained the fuel from the fuel distributor housing and the filter. I pumped it up with clean fuel but it will only run while feeding it starting fluid.What is wrong?
Probably clogged injectors.. Those motors don't like to sit. And be carefull with that starting fluid. It may be a clean running motor, but it's still a 2 stroke. Starting fluid has no oil mixed in with it.
hello test the High Pressure fuel pump pressure. these little pumps like to stick. you should hear it run for 5 seconds when you turn the key on . if you dont test the pump for correct voltage.if all else fails you can use 12 volt jumper leads on the pump terminals. this little pump aint cheap so test it well before replaceing. good luckthe pump is marke pos and neg at the terminals
