Mercury 850 - dies at 1/3 throttle

Hey, I have a 1976 mercury 850 2stroke 4cyl. motor. After warmimg up for a while it will idle enough to slip it in gear. But it will only give me about idle speed and if I give it anymore throtle it just dies. The engine has all new wiring, And runs fine at home with a hose hook up. It just does not like the lake......

have someone test the stator, my 90hp did that , I did everytyhing gas wise, it was the stator

Do the Clams posted Timing & Sync of merc inlines.
