Remove 2 nuts one in the front of the unit, it's 5/16 NF and faces up, one under the cavition plate 3/8 NF facing down. drop the unit down and the pump cover is held on with 2, 1/4 NF nuts remove the cover, lift the s?steel plate out, turn the impeller to loosen the key and impeller on the shaft, lift or pry the impeller out of the hsg. carefully. Grease the shaft and key to hold in place in install the impeller. Ypou may need to turn the shaft and impeller to get it in the hsg.<br /><br />The best advice I can give you is to buy a MANUAL

thanks for your help.it went like you said.one more ? if you are looking down at the impeller with the prop towards you what way do the fins on the impeller go.thanks so much for your help

The driveshaft turns clockwise as viewed from the top of the motor. So, as you're looking down into the pump housing of the lower unit, the blades of the impeller would be tailing off to your left. Which is what happens when you rotate the shaft as you're pushing the impeller down and turning it in the same direction as the shaft.<br /><br />HTH...........ed
