Default Yamaha 60hp hard starting

Please help me.I have a Yamaha 60hp 2cyl 2stroke eng. The problem is that when I am trying to start it normaly (meaning just turn the ignition key) the rotor just turn very slow. If I connect cables from a battery directly to the starter (bypassing the relay unit) the engine starts. After doing some measurments I find out that the relay unit is working ok. So is the neutral valve. The cable (brown) that controls the safety features (neutral and fuse) is continous and gives the 12 volts that it sould. I am thinging of changing the relay with a spare one that I have from an other yamaha that I have. Any ideas before I try that???????

Yassus! If the battery you are connecting directly is not the same as the one connected to the relay, you should pay attention to the battery status. When the relay is drawn by the low-amp 12-volt power from the key, it is supposed to connect the the hi-amp 12-volt power to the starter.Connect the battery to the relay directly, to detect if power disappears in the relay's breaking points. If the relay works but has worn points, too little power will reach the starter.

Thank you on that (UU).I will try to clean the contacts later in the evening. The primary battery that I have is 170A top-up. The second one is a very old 45A. I connect directly with cables the second one but the primary is always connected through the main cables. If there will be any luck I'll let you know. Thanks again.213.5.40.40 Athens Greece>>
