I was told my outboard had a "bad reed valve" by the guy who sold me the boat. He said it was no big deal to fix. Now I hear it is a major repair. Does anyone know what is involed to repair it?<br />thanks.
Major enough that you have to open up the block. Do some searches on the topic to get an idea of the work involved.<br /><br />What makes him think that the reeds need replacement?
He told me the middle carb needed to be rebuilt be cause the reed valve was bad. Now I find out the reed valve has nothing to do with the carb. Would you know how I could get it checked out?<br />thanks.
