I have a 1980 20HP Mercury . I was thinking about trying a 4 blade prop. But I thought it might lag the engine lag to much being a 20 HP. It's the COMPROP from Cabelas. $57.99. Anyone have any experience with 4 blade props on smaller motors. They have 10.5 X 11 or 10 X 13. I'd appreciate your input. Thanks.

I can't help you as to performance improvements with 4 blade props on small hp. I think the comprops are not durable enough as a primary prop. Spare emergency prop, OK. They are prone to severe damage if you impact underwater obstacles.

i've been using a comp prop on my 4stroke 30 horse merc for 6 yrs. love it, makes boat come out better and better fuel economy. they arent as tough as alum, but they dont tear anything up when you strike something, i use mine alot in the ohio river and mississippi, lots of floatind debris, only on my second one. good luck ron
