Repaint 9.9 johnson 75'

G'day i am planing on repainting my 75' johnson. as paintings isn't realy a skill of mine. what do i get in the way of paint. do i use just ordinary enamal whith aluminium primer? i dont have the paint code all i know is it is OD Green do i just ask the bloke at the paint shop for OD green. and is a airless spraygun good enough for the job.<br /><br />Thanks

You can get factory paint from a Johnnyrude dealer. It comes in spray cans. You can also get aftermarket from Tempo. But if either option is a problem, you can have an automotive paint supplier match the paint if they are so equipped. They just need to test a bit of paint that's still in good shape. You'll usually find a place under the hood that'll do nicely. They can put that in a spray can too.

does matching the paint come at much more of a cost?

because i know that the last outboard i painted wasn't even close to the original colour
