Have owned the new boat and motor for about 18 months and charging system seems weak. Never goes produces over 12.6 volts . . . must recharge my two new batteries after every trip. Factory wired with two battery system.How do I figure out what's bad (wiring, voltage regulator, etc)? Mechanics said system looks okay but gave no details.

Charging voltage probley should be up around 14 volts. You need a meter and manual with the specs. If you are looking for a mechanic try www.am-tech.org. There is a list of techs by state and city.
