I am rebuilding a 60Hp 3 cylinder Merc 1998 that had been in my garage for 5 years in bits. All has gone well except I have a bit I dont know where it should go. They are two relays on a bracket with one bolt on one end of the braket and a hook on the other end of the bracket. The relays each have a red wire joined together to a single connector and one relay has a blue/white wire and a blue wire the other has a green and a green/white wire. Where should these relays be connecting to / mounted. I know this is a hard one without photos!

I think the relays may be for the power tilt and trim?

Thanks

Chris

That's what they're for. Red is for Positive, Blue is for Up, Green is for Down (with or without white stripes).

Thanks, I have now matched the wires up correctly and typing with oily hands. I know I am being stupid but I cant see where the bracket should mount. I am thinking that the bolt mounts on the bottom of the starter motor but then the relays seem to foul the wiring. If anybody has a picture of a 60hp Merc on the starter motor side that should solve it. Sorry for being thick, I did take photos before taking apart but clearly at the time thought it would be bloody obvious where this went. Obviously I was wrong!
