Default Frozen flywheel 25 yamaha or not?

I have a 1988 25hp Yamaha and have tried removing the flywheel to get at the coils as I have no spark to one cylinder. I have proven everything..spark plugs, coils leads, cdi box and wiring and it can only be a pulser coil playing up. I removed the pull start assembly and the fly wheel nut and have been trying to pull the flywheel with a puller but no luck.Is there something else to undo before pulling the flywheel or some other way to get at the coils? Does the top of the flywheel unscrew..it looks like its made up of 2 parts?

aussiefishowith the puller in place and tight, take a hamer and hit the jam (center bolt in puller) with a sharp hit. do not try to hit it with everthing you got, you just want to shock it so the taper in the flywheel turn loose. If you have already done this thry a bit of heat on the flywheel, (maybe a hair dryer).Richard

Hey aussiefisho....If the wheel don't pop when you smack the jam nut, keep as much tension on the puller as you can and put some Blaster or other kind of penetrating oil around the where the shaft comes through the flywheel. May take a while but I have had them pop off on there own after soaking for a while. Don't over do the smacking of the jam nut.Jim

I guess the European Yamaha is different than the ones here in the states. The 1988 25 hsp model here shows the two coils mounted on the port side of the engine.
