My Mercury won't idle

I have a Mercury 9.9 hp I believe to be a 1987 OB1522251. It will start with the choke on with one pull and will run while as long as your stay on the throttle but it will not idle if I don't pull the choke. Can anyone help me?<br /><br /> Thank You<br /> Steve

Sounds to me like your low speed jet is stopped up. I'd pull the carburetor and give it a good cleaning.

thank you E.F. Henry I found the problem in the primer/injector diaphragm assembly. Runs great now but thank you for your help.<br /> Thanks,<br /> Steve
