I just replaced my voltage regulators and now have good voltage.Took the boat out and it ran fine but when I went to leave it would not get up on plane.Got it home and changed the plugs and they were black and oily.Dropped motor into tank and ran but still smoked and had a miss.Pulled wires off while running and had fire on all 6.There was a pretty heavy coat of oil on the surface of the water in the tank.Could this be a possible switchbox problem.Seems like the miss gets worse with higher rpms. Thanks

Check a spark gap tester and make sure the spark can jump at least a 7/16" gap.

Describe the "not getting up to plane" problem. Is it getting bogged down or something else.

As I was idling around looking for brush piles I could feel a miss and then feel it fire for a moment and then miss.I didnt think anything of it untill I went to move and when I went to accelerate and it would not get up on plane. It was real sluggish and vibrating(like a miss).
