1979 mercury 80 HP. Runs good sitting on trailer, put it in water and it sounds like its only feeding one carb,and won't run in water.

welcome aboard<br /> that could be anything from a blown piston to a restricted exhaust idle relief. first order is a compression and spark test, if you dont own a spark tester use the search function and key words Homemade spark tester. a compression tester can be purchased about anywhere. Kmart and wally world sell them.
