Replacing powerhead bearing. Merc 90.

Hi<br />I have a 1987 Merc 90, 3 cylinder. I have to replace the lower crankshaft bearing. Is it possible to replace this bearing without splitting the crankcase?<br /><br />Thanks<br />Steve

If you got the bearing cap off, I don't think it has any bolt holes to pull it I don't think it's posible to get the retaining ring off to remove the brg.

I tend to agree.... I think you gotta split it. Might as well deglaze and re-ring it while you're in there.<br /><br />-W
