Looking for help with a situation on my Mercury 2002 4 stroke 40hp outboard. It appears that after starting and runnning the engine for several minutes. It began to stall after trying to restart with no sucess it was determined that ter was water in the tank that got fed up through the engine which caused it to stall.

I have drined the portable tank, put fresh fule in it and changed the plugs but cannot get the engine to start or even kick. I tried spraying some carb cleaner into the carbs with no success. The primer ball seems hard but I do not think that the gas is getting to the carbs. Do not know my way around four strokes but feel that thi has to be something simple.

Any help would be appreciated as I need to get the engine winterized and an concernec that this maty cuase additional damage if left unattended over the winter.

Thank you all in advance.
