i was running my yamaha 225 efis the other day when i noticed that the voltmeter on the yamaha digital multifunction guage was reading 16.2 volts and flashing....when i slowed down the reading went down to 12.8...does this mean anything or is it something i never noticed?

Try giving the battery a full shore charge, and then checking the charging function of the motor. It could be that your battery is weak.
