I have a Fletcher GTO Bravo 17ft speedboat. I have a 1971 1350 135hp 6cyl merc.

If my engine is trimmed right down my boat steers to one side, when i trim it up it straightens out.

If im going along at say 40mph and I trim it down it pulls strongly to one side again?

Why is this happening? Anyone know?

My skeg is in pretty poor shape, could this be my problem?

Many Thanks

Stan

Re: Strange steering on my inline.

The skeg could be causing it to pull, or the zinc Trim Tab above the prop, or the motor could be not perpendicular (up on one side) to the transom. It is also normal for motors trimmed down to pull to the right somewhat, partially trimmed they steer neutral, max trim they pull left.
