I have a 2002 Mercury 80 outboard jet that has been working perfectly on a 17.6 foot North River Revenge. Just recently I have experienced considerable drag on the steering wheel. When the engine is off the steering wheel moves freely but is a two hand job to hang on when engine is running. I thought that the bucket may have not been completely cleary the opening on the leg in the forward throtle position but this isn't the case it drops down into a completely open position. I have noticed there is about 1/4" of play in the forward throtle position after the bucket has dropped down below the leg opening and I was wondering if anyone knows if this could be enough play in the bucket to have the force of the water pull it back up into a postion to be partially blocking the opening and creating the drag on the steering wheel. I can't think of anything else to explain why this has started to happen does anyone have any ideas.<br />Thanks
