just bought a "merc 650", 65hp s/n#2166266 engine-thunderbolt but not sure of year? help?? also engine starts and runs but stuck in reverse mode and water won't pass through the spout. any info is very much helpful??<br /> :confused:

It's a 1967, make sure it's not sitting on the rev lock dogs, it thats not it have someone hold them down with the engine tilted up and try to shift it, then remove the shift cable from the engine to see if it's the box or cable problem, if this don't find it you will probably have to drop the unit
