After 5mins running today a buzzer sounded under the dash and after about 30 secs the engine stopped. The sound was constant and after removing the cover i found the engine was real hot.
Once i got it home 30 mins later I switched the ignition on and the buzzer had stopped.
So I have figured its a overheat problem but can anyone shed some light on why and what to check.
Its a prmix BTW and it was fine the day before.
Thanks,
Samonz

You need a water pump rebuild. The impeller failed. Unfortunately you chose to run the motor til it siezed. Had you been wiser, you would've stopped the motor as soon as the alarm sounded. That's why it's there. Doing the water pump at this point is probably a waste of money. Start looking for a new motor. :(

If your engine got hot enough to stop, I would not be so quick to make SA remarks to someone trying to help. Most likely you have done some damage to engine which will bite you later.

Bob
