intermittent but frequent stalls out for lack of fuel but fuel filter is clean and full will restart and run for 2-3 minutes and starve out again

It is a 2002 50hp big foot<br />engine EFI fuel filter is clean.When engine quits there is fuel in bowl you can restart immeadiatly but only runs for 2-3 minutes then starves for fuel and dies. The EFI fuse is OK.We got it to run at full revs for 1/2 hour and thought ok but back to same problem.We operate a pontoon boat for seniors and handicapped people and only have 3 trips left for next week/season we 45 miles from calgary and dont have tranport available to bring to repair shop in time for next outing.

When you say that the EFI filter is clean,are you referring to the engine mounted filter or the water/filter seperator (remote mounted)? <br /><br />IMO, the very first thing to check is the water seperator filter - replace it. Also, the EFI still has a primer bulb although it is rarely needed. The primer bulb has a check valve built in - could have crud inside.<br /><br />Failing those two things, you would probably need to perform a fuel pressure test to see if the pump is o/k.<br /><br />Aldo
