3.9 shut off?

I have a 1965 Mercury 3.9hp and it doesn't have a kill switch, And when I Idle it all the way back it just keeps running really slow almost wanting to die, but doesn't.. <br /><br />What do I need to do to make it die??

That's what I do now but it makes it hard to restart...
