took my boat out today for the first time only to become disgusted...motor sounds like its bogging down when trying to plane out...its like the secondary carbs are waiting to long to engage...when they do engage the throttle is past the halfway mark and the boat shoots out the water...is there a way to adjust the secondary carbs to engage sooner or does it sound like my problem lies elsewhere?...any comments would be welcome

just a thought...could the fuel pump be the culprit?...it sounds like its starved for fuel...anyways...

I'd say you should start thinking about ripping off the carbs and doing a cleaning. Disassemble, soak in carb cleaner, dry and blow out every orfice with compressed air, and reassemble with new gaskets. Easy job, should be able to get them off the engine, clean, and back on the engine in one day.

-andy
