Pin at the top of the trim cylinder on merc 40

I have a 2003 40hp mercury that came with power assist and i am adding factory power tilt/trim.I am having problems getting the top pin on the trim cylinder out.It has a small pin that seats to it through the bracket and can not get it to move.Thanks
