I have a 1984 Mercury 9.8 and it will rev up by itself at idle then idle back down. It really doesn't have a set pattern how or when it does it just seems when it feels like it. It does seem to do it more offten than it was. Don't know if this is the same problem but at low idle it will die. Now maybe the idle is too low, but it's at a real low idle. Any ideas?<br />It'll just gain rpms real fast setting there without touching it.
