Nope. Thats an automotive tach. You need a tach specifically for 2 cycle engines. Look on e-bay. Lots there for a good price. Make sure the tach you get has adjustable settings on it to select the proper number of poles for your ignition system.

That tach looks like it will work. <br /><br />There should be three connections on the back of the tack (12V+, Ground, and Sender). The 12V+ should go to a wire that only has power when you turn the key on (white wire from control). The ground should be to a common ground. And the other connection is the sender connection. It should connect to the brown wire comming from your control, or you can hook this connection to the rectifier, to one of the connections that comes from the stator. There may be separate connections for the gauge light which can be connected to a switch. Also there should be some sort of switch on back to change pole settings. Make sure this is set for 12 poles.
