Easy One: Mix ration

Just bought a used 83 Merc 80 HP, 4cyl. 2 stroke<br />Seems to be running too rich. Had a lot of trouble starting, pull the plugs and they are wet. Been running 32:1. <br /><br />What is the proper mix for this motor??<br />Thanx

50:1 is what Mercury says to use, but closer to 40:1 is a better idea in an old motor. 32:1 is a little excessive, but it shouldn't make it have any problems running.
