i'm trying to find the realistic idle speed for a 1992 40 hp 4 cylinder. i have been told that if i get everything right that this motor will idle all day long at 550rpm. i'm able to get the idle to about 650rpm. i would like to know what other peoples experiance with this motor is for a realistic idle speed.

Most will idle at 650 but 550 is tough with prop with much pitch
