I have a 2002 9.9 Mercury exlh Bigfoot sail power with a gear ratio of 2.42:1. I went to start it after being down for a few months the other day and no water so I shut it down immediately. I have taken the thermostat out and blown through the hose to the tell tale and it is free and clear. I boiled the thermostat and it's good. I left the thermostat out and tried it and no water. I then dropped the lower unit and checked the impeller, looked good to me, no breaks or charring. I gave it a good cleaning and put it together and no water. Is my water pump toast? The last thing I did was dropped the lower unit and tried to blow up the water line in the leg, I could not. Does this mean that something is blocking the passage or are you not supposed to be able to blow up that line? Thanks in advance for any help.<br />

Thanks Kiekhaeferscurse, I pulled the side cowling off and where the water tube goes into the block there was an obstruction. Cleared the obstruction and was able to blow through. I replaced the impeller anyway jus to be on the safe side, alot cheaper than replacing a motor.
