The motor is an 01' The previous owner had 3 tanks of gas through the motor before I bought it. The first time out the motor ran very strong but then started to flucuate rpm at top speed 5750-5000 rpm, now the motor is having a hard time to get the boat on plane when before the boat jumped out of the water. I did a compression test and everything is good, the plugs are also new. I ran the tank of gas that was in the motor down to below a 1/4 tank and refilled with 93 octane and fuel stabilzer. Please give me some help! Thank you

87 octane is fine. Not a motor for the average shade tree mechanic. Have a dealer run the diagnostics on it.

What was the problem with your Optimax? If it was an easy fix, maybe I can handle my similar problem. See my post 12 July 07/4:15

Of course, the same symptoms can have several answers.
