Hi I have what I am told be a 1986 Mariner 55el It says that on the engine cover and data plate with serial # 663 L 317554I canÂ’t find any workshop manual or info on this motor.Though Clymer print a manual 2-220 1976-1989 there is no mention of this model.Clymer have ignored my email request for help. Is this expected from this company?Hope someone can help.Regards to all, David

Welcome to iboats. That's made by Yamaha. A Yamaha manual would be appropriate.

Thanks for your help WillyBWright, but still can't find any info. Bought Clymer manual 2-225 two-stroke 1984/89 but no mention of any 55hp unit or anything like itBest Regards, David
