1971 800 thunderbolt not fireing

need help, i have a 71 800 thunderbolt, no fire<br />wiring is correct, <br />12v red post<br />12v white with switch on<br />mercury switch tested good<br />rectifier tested good<br />i have read lots of theads on testing the ignition, my problem is motor has factory switch box and does not have a "distributor side" so i do not how to test the switch box<br />I would greatly appreciate any advice from an old merc expert!

the distributer side is the side with 3 posts

my switch box only has posts on one side

had a switch box given to me from a friend, with post for distributer, but we don't know if it hookups the same<br />white post - white wire<br />black post- black wire(mine goes to ground)<br />brown post- blue wire<br />will this work?????

Sorry, but it appears that youhave a ign. system that Mercury only used in early production that year. parts are scarce for it but there are some out there. I have never seen one but if you need I can probably find test procdures in a manual for you I think that you probably need to get one yourself--Bob
