Mercury 15 hp shifter problem.

I have a shifting problem with my 15 hp Mercury. I was stranded on the lake after going from reverse to neutral. It wouldn't go into any gear. The handle would only spin but the throttle worked.

Does anyone have an exploded view of the handle assembly? If so please e-mail it to me.

Welcome montana2004,

Some Mercs are under a recall/replacement on the shaft in the tiller handle itself.The shaft is ok,but the plastic pieces bonded to it loose their grip.

You need to see you local dealer.Posting your serial number here will let us know if you need this,but you need a dealer to actually do this repair.
