Default 1985 25hp Mariner Fly Wheel Magnets

I'm working on an ignition problem on this motor. Just wanted to check. The flywheel has 2 magnets mounted side-by-side. Is this correct. There is a rusty mark 180 deg. want to make sure I didnt lose a magnet.ThanksMark

The magnets should be a 180 deg. clean the surfaces and reglue with epoxy if the magnets are ok, being carefull not to reverse the direction of the magnet--Bob

EUREKA!!!This problem has been plaguing me for 3 weeks. thats what it is. magnet came loose and slid around next to the other. At least I now have an entirely new ignition system also. Is there any standard way to make sure the magnet is mounted exactly at 180 deg or is a degree or so off ok?Thanks much for your reply. I would have been pulling my hair out tomorrow after I put the new trigger in and it still didnt work. Nothing was making any sense with this, but I never checked the magnets.Mark
