power trim for 1980 70 hp merc

hey, i have an old 1980 70hp merc two stroke engine however, i need a powertrim. i was wondering if anyone knows where i can get a hold of one and if it's possible to install it and what the costs involved might be.

Welcome to iboats.<br /><br />I believe those used the trim system with twin outer rams and a pump in the boat. Common as dirt. Finding a used one shouldn't be terribly difficult. Finding a Working used one might be more of a challenge. ;) <br /><br />Installation is pretty involved. I'd expect it to take a shop 4 hours, maybe more. Beyond the price of the unit and the installation, there shouldn't be any suprises I can think of. Unless you end-up needing a new pump.

I have a Marina 70hp from 1979 - probably much the same motor. Have been wondering the same - how did you go - have you managed to find the powertrim hardware and how much?
