Rev Limiter

Can I do anything to keep the rev limiter from coming in and out so bad at max rpm on my 2002 Merc. 125 Saltwater. Damn thing sounds like it has the hiccups, or someone calling hogs.

Nope. Otherwise you'll snap the crankshaft. That's why they have a fairly low maximum RPM of 5250 as compared to 5500 - 6000 that most outboards use these days. Once you reach about 5700, that crank snaps. Prototypes reached 135Hp, but they could never keep a crank in them. 125s pretty much push the limit and you exceed that limit at your own peril.
