Bearing Carrier Removal?

Merc 1979 20hp blueband.....I finally drilled off the cover nut on the lower unit, but can't get the bearing carrier to pull out...any tips?

Put a couple of flat pieces of 3/8' metal beween the housing and an old prop or other spaces, install the prop retainer and nut, thighten the nut and it will pull the carrier, is some extreme cases you may have to heat the housing--Bob
