I just bought a 2000 Mercury 125 outboard. It has been running great with no problems until now. The motor won't start. It may be simply a coincidence but this happened after using the boat and then flushing the motor with fresh water. I pulled a plug and there is no spark. What can I check next?

Thanks

Go to Engine FAQs and read "Outboard wont start".

That should put you on track. Come back and tell us what you found.

Good luck. :)

The engine is in neutral. I am not familiar with the kill switch, does the engine have that even though I have key ignition.

Thanks
